The key benefits of the "Add/Remove Restrictions to Parent & Child Pages" built in script are listed below. These are currently not stated in the documentation and it doesn't explain how this differs from Confluence's out-of-the-box functionality.
- In native Confluence, when adding the Editing Restrictions to a parent page, those Edit Restrictions are not inherited (only view restrictions are inherited), which means pages need to be restricted individually for editing. The SR built-in script does, in fact, add the editing restrictions to all of the child pages.
- It is quick and easy to select multiple page trees or individual pages to set page restrictions in bulk rather than having to do it one by one.
